Spring/ Summer 2022: 5 Colours You Need in Your Wardrobe

Colours are not only for colour consultant. It is also for individuals who wants to align their personality with their wardrobe or simply looking good; graphic designers to mix and match colours for interior design; photographer and videographer for editing knowledge; and business owners who want to create their uniform, logo or office colours associated with their branding.

The colours I am about to recommend are rooted in hope, growth, warmth and uplifting energy as we march into the third year of the pandemic. In this article, I am going to select five trending colours into your personal wardrobe so you can stay on trend!

#1 Innuendo Hot Pink

This colour can be striking and attention seeking, however if you have clear eyes, bright skin and dark hair; this colour helps compliment your face and YOU became the attention instead of the clothes you wear. This pink is not so much on romantic and sweetness, but fun, exciting and youthful.

Not sure how to match this colour? I got you! Here's the examples: Hot Pink top and Blue jeans, orange chiffon blouse and hot pink skirt, full length hot pink dress with royal blue purse, yellow top with wide length hot pink pants or pencil skirt and any neutrals colour can match with this colour.

#2 Skydiver Blue

#3 Sudan Brown

This warm-based colour Sudan Brown stands for a calming spirit. This colour gives people a sense of stability and reassurance, friendliness and supportive. People find it comfortable to open up and be honest with you. However, this is a colour that can drag your energy down if you didn't have a good rest as its highlight the pigmentation.

Any colours with warm undertone would be a great combination to pair with this brown such as daffodil yellow (point number 5), rust orange, chilly red, lime green etc. You will find this colour very often on Timberland men or female boots.

#4 Very Peri

"Very Peri" is chosen to be "The Colour of The Year" to bring newness after few years of pandemic. This purple is a mixture of blue and red which represents the faith, energy and excitement, happiness and warmest; a very much needed vibe for a fresh start according to Pantone.

Whether you want to paint this colour to your home office or immerse this colour in your wardrobe, colours such as white, beige, pink, navy blue, orange, yellow, green and grey are all good match. Some good real life examples are: Zendaya in Versace at BET Awards; Lady Gaga in Gucci at House of Gucci London premier; Priyanka Chopra in Fendi at Chopard party in Cannes and male celebrity, Kumail Nanjiani in Umar Sayeed Couture at the โ€œEternalsโ€ Los Angeles premiere!

#5 Daffodil Yellow

Daffodil, as the name suggested, a pretty yellow flower that stands out among the green garden. This colour highlights the courage and optimistic among us during the uncertainty period. Just like the illustration below, you can see this yellow is a good match to Skydiver Blue and Very Peri, the colours mentioned above and also harmony to the bright pink colour and green. If you are still getting used to this bright colour yet want to stay on trend, I suggest you to invest this yellow in your accessories like tie, scarf, watch stripes, handbag or shoes.
